Stone Quarry ( Mining ) :
sectors where Child labor is predominantly found in
Jalna district. Children are used for lifting excavated
Stone Quarry( Open cast Mining) is also one of the
materials and for breaking stones .

Brick Furnace (Vit-Bhatti):
Due to large no of constructions, Manufacturing of
Bricks is also one of the expanding industries
inJalna district. This Industry is found also in Rural
area.

Bidi Industry :
Jalna city is the main center of manufacture of Bidi.Because of lack of employment
in the formal sector the working force in the district is working since generations in
this household industry. Due to Ghar Poch Kam System the children in the house
directly or indirectly, with or without consent started taking interest in Beedi
production. This resulted in increase in drop out in the school and hence the
problem of child labour. In Beedi industry children often work along with elder
relatives and friends and possibly are not paid directly.
The main causes of child labour in Beedi industries are :
Ghar Poch Kam System of Manufacturing of Beedi.
Absence of easily available alternative employment.
Vicious circle of indebtedness.
Illiteracy.
The base line survey was conducted by NCLP
Society during January 2004 to May 2004 with the
help of MSW students.
8025 child labours from 5-17 age group found in
Jalna district (pocket areas) during base line
survey.
